Here is what is happening on this page. It is the photo and blurb story of my body's transformation from fat to physically fit. My heaviest weight was 299 pounds.
That was a wake up call. I am terrified of hitting 300 pounds so it was a shock of cold water in my face so to speak. I've watched my mother's body break down from the weight of the fat that she carried around on her body for years. She was a bit over 300 lbs and it really did a number on her.
Our body compositions are significantly different, but I am carrying the weight of 2 people on my body and it's time to do something about it.
I started seriously looking for a plan, program, something to help me gain control of my out of control weight. I looked at Weight Watchers, TOPS, Over-eaters Anonymous, Bariatric surgery, and I don't remember how many different types of diets.
I considered trying to get to a gym. I live way out on a ranch so getting to a gym to workout is just not a viable option. At least not in my mind it isn't.
The thing is, I am not interested in just losing fat. I want to be able to enjoy my life. Be active, physically fit. I want those 6 pack abs; yeah that's right I want 6 pack abs. I want to be able to walk a marathon, to ride a century, and to walk without my thighs rubbing. Forget rubbing, I want to be able to walk without my thighs touching.
Hey, you know what I want to be able to go out and have fun. Go to Cheyenne Frontier days and enjoy some concerts, shows, and rodeos. Yes I know I could go anyway, but frankly I could do without the heat gald, and heat exhaustion from carrying so much fat. I want to go to Universal Studios and check it out. Will I now, no I won't because my butt is to big to fit comfortably in a plane seat. No thank you, I don't care to fly stuffed in there seat cheek to seat cheek. Be great to go shopping and not have my knees screaming because they've been carrying 2 people around all day. You know what, I love cute shoes, do I wear them now. No, I go for the sturdy ones to try and protect my feet. Poor abused feet.
What I don't want is to lose a bunch of fat and have no muscle tone, and skin hanging everywhere. Ugh! If I can avoid having to have surgery to tighten up skin that is what I am going to do. Actually that is one of the major reasons I was looking for a total package to fitness.
For me it's not about getting skinny. For me there is no point in being skinny and not having health and energy to enjoy life. Thanks but no thanks, I've already done the too exhausted to move thing.
It's about being healthy and physically fit. Feeling good, and being able to enjoy living my life. Frankly carrying around an extra 150 plus pounds is exhausting, miserable, and damaging to my body.
I was pretty excited when I came across Beachbody. Wow it had everything I was looking for. Great workouts, online chats with trainers, message boards full of people, an online gym, so no matter where I live I can find folks to workout with. Then to top it off they have the coaches program. You know it's great to help other people along the way. Pretty nice to get paid for it too...lol...
